'Once A Blue Always A Red' features the artist's conversations with two taxi drivers in Liverpool. It is part of his long-term project 'Crossing the Park' where he attempts to change which football team he supports from Everton to their local rivals Liverpool. There are strong negative social pressures against such a change of allegiance; the conversations examine this through the lens of family and friends, loyalty and identity.

"I was drawn to this idea because I wanted to find out if it was possible for me to start to love something that I used to hate. This felt like the right time to for the project in a period when opposing sides in many fields seem to be more partisan and entrenched in their views than ever. It also gave me the opportunity to explore areas of personal interest such as morality, empathy and tribalism."
